Nellie G. Hooper represents employers and employees in employment civil litigation. She also represents clients covering a multitude of business related issues.

Ms. Hooper is a graduate of South Texas College of Law and earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at Austin.  Ms. Hooper grew up in Houston, is the youngest of five children and was the first one on her family to attend college.  During her legal career she has had the opportunity to work for several state agencies.  She worked as a staff attorney for the State Commission on Judicial Conduct. Ms. Hooper also served as a research and staff attorney for the Dallas Court of Appeals.Ms. Hooper is licensed to practice in the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Southern and Western Districts.  She is also licensed to practice law before the United States Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals-Fifth Circuit.

Ms. Hooper is fluent in both speaking and writing the Spanish language.  She considers herself fortunate to be bilingual and raising her three sons to be bilingual as well.  Ms. Hooper and husband and family live in Lewisville and are members of the   Grapevine Church of Christ.

Civil Litigation: Representation to plaintiffs or defendants in state and federal courts with a concentration in employment, civil rights, business and commercial litigation, and consumer litigation. Typical litigation cases involve temporary restraining orders and injunctive relief actions, breach of contract claims and defenses, debt collection matters, deceptive trade practice prosecutions and defenses, and landlord-tenant matters (including evictions). Commercial litigation areas include contract disputes; business torts, including tortious interference with contractual relations, fraud and breach of fiduciary duty; officer and director liability; securities and shareholder rights; employee relations and benefits; insurance coverage; deceptive trade practices and consumer fraud.


Rising Star — Ms. Hooper was selected as a Rising Star by TEXAS MONTHLY Magazine in 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011. Only 2.5 percent of Texas Attorneys receive this honor each year. Rising Stars are chosen by their peers as being among the top up-and-coming lawyers in the state.
